What is a VICIdial status code?

A VICIdial status code is the short label — up to six characters, like NEW, DROP or SALE — that VICIdial writes to a lead when a call ends. It records what happened on that call, and it decides what happens next: whether the dialer calls the lead again, whether the number goes on a DNC list, and which column the call lands in on your reports.

Some are set by the system — the dialer and the carrier stamp their own outcomes with no agent involved. The rest are dispositions: the codes an agent picks from the drop-down when they hang up. Both kinds live in the same list, which is why a floor can see NA and N on the same report and mean two different things. All 68 are grouped below.

Agent dispositions

AAnswering machine (agent-marked)
An agent heard an answering machine on a live call and dispositioned it by hand.
BBusy (agent-marked)
The agent heard a busy signal and dispositioned the call by hand.
BUSYBusy (custom code)
Not a VICIdial default. The shipped busy codes are B (agent-marked) and AB (carrier-signalled).
CALLBKCall back
The customer asked to be called back — VICIdial’s built-in callback status, scheduled or not.
CBHOLDCall back hold
A scheduled callback that has not come due yet, or one reserved for the agent who booked it.
DCDisconnected number (agent-marked)
The agent heard a disconnected-number recording and dispositioned the call by hand.
DECDeclined sale
The prospect heard the full pitch and said no at the close.
NNo answer (agent-marked)
The agent let the phone ring, nobody picked up, and they dispositioned it by hand.
NINot interested
Someone answered and said no before the pitch got going — the standard early-decline code.
NPNo pitch, no price
A contact that ended before the agent could present the offer or quote a price.
SALESale made
The agent closed the deal — the status every other code on the floor is measured against.

Answering machine

AAAnswering machine (auto-detected)
Answering-machine detection decided a machine picked up, before any agent heard the call.
ADAIRDead air (auto)
The call was answered but detection heard no audio at all — neither a person nor a machine.
AFAXFax machine (auto)
The dialer detected a fax tone on the answered call.
ALAnswering machine, message played
A machine answered, the call was sent to a message, and the message finished playing.
AMAnswering machine, sent to message
Detection found a machine and the call was handed off to play a recorded message.
AMDXFRAnswering machine transferred
Detection found a machine and the call was transferred to a call menu or an in-group rather than dropped.
FASHUFalse answer, auto hangup
The carrier reported the call as answered when nobody actually picked up, so the dialer hung up.
FAXHUFax detected, auto hangup
Detection heard a fax and ended the call itself.

Carrier results

ABBusy (carrier)
The carrier returned a busy signal — no agent was involved.
ADCDisconnected number (carrier)
The carrier reported that the number is disconnected.
ADCTCongested number (carrier)
The carrier returned a congestion or rejection cause — the call could not be completed at that moment.
NANo answer (autodial)
The dialer never got an answer signal — ring-outs, dead numbers, congestion and carrier errors all land here.
PUCall picked up
A transient status set the instant the carrier signals answer, before the call reaches an agent.

Compliance

DNCDo not call
The person asked not to be called again — and with the DNC flag set, the number goes on VICIdial’s do-not-call list.
DNC
DNCCCampaign do-not-call list match
The number matched the campaign’s own do-not-call list, so this campaign did not dial it.
DNC
DNCLDo-not-call list match
The lead’s number matched VICIdial’s internal do-not-call list, so it was blocked instead of dialed.

Dropped calls

DROPAgent not available (outbound drop)
Someone answered your outbound call and no agent was free before the drop timer ran out.
HOLDTOHold time option termination
The caller held long enough for the in-group’s hold-time option to end the call.
IQNANQIn-queue no agent, no queue
The call was already waiting in the queue when the no-agent-no-queue rule fired and pulled it out.
IVRXFROutbound drop to call menu
A dropped outbound call that was sent to a call menu instead of being hung up on.
MAXCALMax calls drop
The in-group was already at its maximum call count, so the extra call was dropped.
NANQUENo agent, no queue
An inbound call arrived with no agent logged in, so it was never put in the queue at all.
PDROPPre-routing drop
The call was answered and hung up in the same instant, before VICIdial could route it anywhere.
SRDROPShared campaign drop to in-group
A drop from a shared outbound campaign routed to an in-group — deliberately left out of most drop stats.
TIMEOTInbound drop timeout
The inbound call waited out the full drop timer and was handed to the in-group’s drop action.
WAITTOWait time option termination
The inbound call was ended by the in-group’s wait-time option.
XDROPAgent not available (inbound drop)
An inbound caller waited in the queue and was dropped because no agent picked up in time.

MLINATMulti-lead alt-dial lead deactivated
Multi-lead auto alt-dial took this lead out of rotation by marking it inactive.
