Dropped calls

PDROPPre-routing drop

The call was answered and hung up in the same instant, before VICIdial could route it anywhere.

PDROP is the fastest way a call can die. The answer signal arrives and the call is gone immediately — before the dialer has a chance to send it to an agent, a message, or anything else.

When VICIdial sets it

Automatically, and always without an agent. It is not the customer choosing to hang up mid-wait; that is the ordinary outbound drop. PDROP is the answer and the hangup landing on top of each other.

What to do

  • Look at the carrier before you look at your data. False answer supervision, where a route reports "answered" for calls nobody took, shows up here in bulk.
  • Check your caller ID reputation. Numbers flagged as spam get answered and cut off instantly by call-screening apps, and that is a PDROP too.
  • Expect it in your drop statistics: our reports count it alongside the other drops, and so do most regulators’ definitions.

The distinction that matters: DROP means the customer waited and gave up on you, PDROP means there was never a wait at all. FASHU is the related carrier-behaviour code when detection catches a false answer.
