Inbound
ACFLTRArea code filter
The inbound call was handled by the in-group’s area-code filter rather than being sent to an agent.
VICIdial can filter inbound calls by the caller’s area code — to route regions differently, or to refuse areas you do not serve. ACFLTR marks a call that the filter handled.
When VICIdial sets it
Automatically, when an area-code filter is in place and a call matches it. No agent is involved and nothing about the caller is judged beyond their number.
What to do
- Review the filter’s entries periodically. Area-code filters are set up once and then quietly reject business for years.
- Give filtered callers a message rather than silence, so people you cannot serve at least know why.
- If ACFLTR is climbing, check whether your marketing is reaching areas your filter blocks.
- Confirm the filter matches how numbers actually arrive on your system. Inbound caller ID does not always turn up in the format you expect.
- Keep a note of why each entry exists. Filters outlive the person who added them, and nobody dares remove one without a reason.
