Agent dispositions

NNo answer (agent-marked)

The agent let the phone ring, nobody picked up, and they dispositioned it by hand.

N is the agent’s no-answer code. It belongs to manual and preview dialing, where the agent hears the ringing themselves and decides when to give up.

When VICIdial sets it

Only when an agent picks it. Calls that ring out on a predictive campaign never reach an agent, so the dialer writes its own no-answer code instead.

What to do

  • Recycle N leads — nothing about the number is wrong, the person just was not there.
  • Vary the time of day between attempts. Repeated N at the same hour tells you very little beyond that hour being wrong.
  • Cap the attempts. Numbers that never answer eat dial capacity you could spend on fresh leads.
  • Keep this separate from the automatic no-answer code in reporting. One measures how long your agents let it ring, the other measures your carrier and your data.

The automatic equivalent is NA, which is a catch-all for outbound calls with no answer signal — including ring-outs, dead numbers and carrier errors. B is the busy sibling of this code.
