Agent dispositions
DECDeclined sale
The prospect heard the full pitch and said no at the close.
DEC records a real conversation that ended in a no. The agent got through the pitch, presented the offer, and the customer declined it.
When VICIdial sets it
Agent-selected, always. Nothing the dialer does can tell a declined sale from any other completed conversation.
What to do
- Keep DEC and "not interested" as separate codes. One measures your close rate, the other measures your opener — merging them hides which half is broken.
- Consider a minimum call length on this status so it cannot be picked seconds into a call.
- Decide a recycle policy deliberately. A declined prospect is a warmer lead than a fresh one, and also the one most likely to complain about being called again.
- Listen to a sample of declines every week. Why people say no at the close is the most useful thing a campaign produces after the sales themselves.
Related codes
Read DEC next to NI, which is a no before the pitch, and SALE, which is the same conversation with the other ending.
