Carrier results
ABBusy (carrier)
The carrier returned a busy signal — no agent was involved.
AB is a busy result reported by the carrier rather than heard by a person. The line was engaged, the call never connected, and nobody on your floor spent a second on it.
When VICIdial sets it
Automatically, from the carrier’s response to the call attempt.
What to do
- Recycle AB quickly. A busy line is an occupied line, which is the best evidence you have that the number is live.
- Keep an eye out for AB on every attempt to the same number — that pattern is more often a carrier or route quirk than a genuinely busy phone.
- Leave contact and sale flags off so busy results stay neutral in reporting.
- Space the retries out. Redialing a busy number thirty seconds later mostly proves that the line is still busy.
