ALTNUMAlternate number dialed
Bookkeeping status for a manual-dial lead whose alternate number was called without a final disposition.
ALTNUM covers a narrow manual-dial case: an agent dialed an alternate number for a lead and no final disposition was written, or a second call went out on the same lead before the first one was closed out. VICIdial still needs a status on the earlier record, and this is it.
When VICIdial sets it
Automatically, on the manual dial and alternate-number path. It is not in an agent’s pick list and the predictive dialer does not produce it.
What to do
- Do not count ALTNUM as a contact or a failure — it records that a call happened, not how it went.
- A lot of ALTNUM usually means agents are working alt numbers hard, which is fine, or leaving calls undispositioned, which is not. Sample a few recordings to tell which.
- Decide deliberately whether it belongs in your dial statuses. Including it means those numbers get another pass; excluding it parks them.
