Transfers
XFERCall transferred
The agent sent the call on to a closer or another in-group.
XFER records a hand-off. The first agent did their part and passed the customer to a closer or another group — which means the result of the conversation is not on this record.
When VICIdial sets it
From the agent screen, when the agent transfers the call. It is a hand-off marker rather than an outcome: the transfer says nothing about whether the customer bought, declined or hung up.
What to do
- Report on transfer volume and closer outcomes together. Fronters look brilliant on transfer counts alone.
- Watch for leads that end their life on XFER — that usually means the closing side is not dispositioning properly.
- Keep the sale flag off this status. The sale belongs to whoever actually closed it.
- Check transfer timing as well as volume. A transfer that lands when nobody is free turns a warm customer into an abandoned inbound call.
