Inbound

INBNDInbound lead created

The first status a brand-new lead gets when an inbound call starts the queueing process.

When somebody calls you and no lead exists for their number, VICIdial creates one so the call has a record to attach to. INBND is that record’s first status, set as the call enters the queueing process.

When VICIdial sets it

Automatically, at the very start of inbound handling. It is replaced by whatever actually happens — an agent’s disposition, or one of the inbound drop codes.

What to do

  • A lead that is still INBND long after the call means the call ended before anything else was written. Check the recording to see whether the caller got anywhere.
  • Decide whether inbound-created leads should be dialed later. They are people who called you, so they are often your best outbound list.
  • Check which list they land in before you build reporting on them.
  • Watch inbound-created lead volume over time. Growth here means more people are calling you than your outbound records account for.

NEW is the outbound equivalent starting point, and QUEUE plus INCALL are the working states that follow.
