PUCall picked up
A transient status set the instant the carrier signals answer, before the call reaches an agent.
PU marks the moment between the answer signal and the routing decision. The carrier says somebody picked up; VICIdial has not yet decided whether that is a human for an agent, a machine, or a call it has to drop.
When VICIdial sets it
Automatically, and only for a moment. Like the queue statuses it is a working state, so a lead found on PU long after the call is one whose journey stopped short.
What to do
- Do not count PU as a contact. Nobody has spoken to anyone at this point in the call.
- If leads accumulate on PU, look at what happens straight after the answer — detection, routing, or the agent hand-off is where they are getting stuck.
- Leave it out of your dial statuses so half-finished attempts do not go back out blind.
