You own your data: export anytime
Your call recordings, lead data, and reports all live on your own single-tenant VICIfast server. You can export them anytime without asking permission or going through VICIfast.
Every piece of data generated by your VICIdial dialer — Call recording files, lead lists, disposition logs, agent reports — lives on your own server. VICIfast never pools your data with other customers or routes it through a shared storage layer. You can export it whenever you want, using standard tools, without asking VICIfast for permission.
This matters most when a customer asks for a call recording, when legal counsel requests records, or when you want to move to a different system. In each case, the data is where you put it: on your own box.
Single-tenant means your data stays separate
VICIfast runs a Single tenant model: one server per customer, no exceptions. Your VICIdial database, your recording files, and your logs are not on a shared cluster alongside other businesses. The box VICIfast provisions for you on Hetzner is yours alone for the duration of your subscription.
On a shared or multi-tenant Managed hosting platform, the vendor controls where your data sits and often controls whether you can export it without going through a support process. On a single-tenant VPS, you can SCP files off the box, run SQL dumps, or use VICIdial's built-in export tools directly. There is no API layer blocking you.
What data lives on your box
- Call recording files: stored on the VPS disk in WAV or GSM format by default. Standard VICIdial path, accessible over SSH or SFTP.
- Lead lists: the vicidial_list MySQL table on your box. Export via mysqldump, phpMyAdmin, or VICIdial's built-in list export.
- Disposition and Agent session logs: in the VICIdial MySQL database, queryable directly or through the reporting UI on your Branded subdomain.
- Recording retention is whatever you set: VICIfast does not impose a purge schedule on your recordings. If you need to keep recordings for compliance, set your own retention policy and they will stay until you remove them.
How to export your data

B --> E[Your storage or archive]

D --> EBecause VICIfast uses SSH certificate authentication rather than passwords, you can add your own SSH public key to the server from the dashboard and then pull data with standard tools. There is no proprietary export button to wait for and no VICIfast API call required in the middle of the process.
What happens to your data when you cancel
When you cancel a VICIfast subscription, the server enters a pending cancellation state. Before the server is terminated, VICIfast takes a final backup snapshot. You have a window after cancellation to contact support if you realize you need to pull additional data before the box is deprovisioned. After the retention window closes and the server is terminated, the data is gone, so export before you cancel if you need it.
Compliance and Stereo recording
Some industries require stereo call recordings, where the agent channel and the customer channel are recorded on separate tracks so they can be reviewed independently. VICIfast supports Stereo recording through standard VICIdial configuration. Because recordings land on your own server, your compliance team has direct access to every file in the same location, with no intermediary system to log into.
The same applies to On-demand recording: agents can start and stop recording mid-call from the agent screen, and those partial recordings also land on your server in the same VICIdial recordings directory. There is no separate storage account or third-party integration needed to access them.
Moving to a different system
If you ever decide to move off VICIfast, your data is not locked in. Your VICIdial database is a standard MySQL instance. You can take a full mysqldump, import it into a new VICIdial install, and carry your entire history of leads, dispositions, agent records, and campaign settings with you. Your recordings are files on disk, exportable over SFTP in bulk. No conversion, no export request, no waiting for a vendor to prepare a data package.
This is the direct result of the Single tenant model. Because your data is on your own box running standard software, the migration path is the same one it has always been for self-hosted VICIdial. VICIfast does not add a proprietary data layer that creates vendor lock-in.
