Help / Getting started

Welcome to VICIfast — your first 10 minutes

Just ordered your first server? What happens next: the three emails, where your server appears on the dashboard, and how to reveal your VICIdial admin URL and password — click by click.

You signed up, picked a plan, and paid. Here is exactly what happens between checkout and your first login to the VICIdial admin panel: three emails, one dashboard card, and one Reveal button. About ten minutes, most of it simply waiting for the install to finish.

Watch your inbox — three emails

Three emails arrive, in this order:

  1. Order confirmed — your payment went through and your server is queued. This one has your invoice and an Open dashboard button.
  2. Provisioning started — the deploy kicked off. The Watch live progress button in this email takes you straight to your server’s page, where you can follow the install as it runs.
  3. The last one has the subject " is ready" — this is the important one. It contains your admin URL, your server’s IP address, and your admin username (6666).

One thing the ready email does NOT contain: your password. Passwords never travel by email. The email says the password is "sent separately" — in practice that means you reveal it yourself in your dashboard, which is step 2 below.

Step 1 — Find your server on the dashboard

  1. Sign in at vicifast.com. You land on the Dashboard.
  2. Look at the Your servers card. Your new server sits at the top — first with an amber installing badge, then with a green active badge once the install finishes.
  3. Click your server’s name (its hostname, for example jasper837.vicifast.com).

You can also click Servers in the left sidebar for the full list — same thing: click your server’s name there.

Step 2 — Reveal your admin password

On your server’s page, find the VICIdial admin card (the one subtitled "User 6666 — human admin login"). It has three rows: URL, Username, and Password.

  1. Click Reveal next to Password. The dots turn into your real password.
  2. Click Copy to copy it. Click Hide to mask it again.
  3. The small copy icon on each row copies that row’s value — handy for the URL and username too.

Next to it sits an API user card ("For non_agent_api.php integrations"). You only need that one later, if you connect external software to your dialer — ignore it on day one.

Step 3 — Open the VICIdial admin panel

  1. On the same page, click the URL in the VICIdial admin card — or click the Open VICIdial admin button at the top of the page. A new tab opens.
  2. Sign in with username 6666 and the password you just revealed. You are in.

Why the URL "just works": the first time you open your server’s page, VICIfast quietly whitelists your current IP address on the server’s firewall — you may have noticed the "Whitelisted your IP" toast. The firewall is default-deny, so without that the admin page would not load at all. If you later open the URL from a different network (home, a phone hotspot) and it does not load, open your server’s page from that network — or click Manage Firewall, then Whitelist me.

What next

Back on your server’s page, click the amber Setup Wizard button (dashed border, left of Manage Firewall). It walks you through the one-time setup: pick a template, configure your agent groups, and apply everything in one shot. After that the daily routine is: connect your SIP trunk, upload a list of leads (see the Uploading leads guide), and create your agent logins.

Good to know

  • Your admin password is never emailed — not in the welcome mail, not in a second mail. Anyone claiming to be support who "needs your password" is not us. You reveal it yourself, in your own dashboard.
  • Every Reveal click is audit-logged (who unsealed the password, and when). Team members with access to the server can reveal it too.
  • While your server still shows the installing badge, the credentials card reads "Allocated when the server reaches ACTIVE." Give it a few minutes and refresh.
  • The admin URL is unguessable on purpose — a random port plus a random path prefix, behind a default-deny firewall. Treat it like a password: share it only with people who should run your dialer.
  • Changed the admin password inside VICIdial later (Admin → Modify User, as the ready email suggests)? No problem — the dashboard Reveal stays in sync and always shows the current one.
  • The screenshots here use our demo server. Your hostname, port, and URL path will look different.
