What the DNC.COM integration adds to VICIdial filtering

What DNC.COM provides that VICIdial's internal lists do not

VICIdial has built-in DNC list management for internal do-not-call records. What the DNC.COM integration adds is access to external, continuously updated databases — state-level DNC lists, the federal FTC registry, and specialized TCPA and Litigator Scrub databases — without having to manually download and import those lists yourself.

DNC.com is a third-party service provider. VICIdial's integration gives you a web admin utility that connects directly to your DNC.COM account and runs the scrubbing from within the VICIdial admin interface.

The five filtering types available

  • State DNC lists: individual State DNC list registries maintained by state regulators. Requirements vary by state, but the integration queries them through a single DNC.COM connection.
  • Federal (FTC) DNC list: the National Do Not Call Registry maintained by the FTC. Scrubbing against this list is mandatory for most outbound telemarketing campaigns.
  • Internal DNC list: your own organization's Internal DNC records, which any business subject to the FTC's Telemarketing Sales Rule is required to maintain.
  • TCPA scrub: filters numbers that require written consent under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) before being dialed with an autodialer.
  • Litigator Scrub: filters numbers associated with known DNC litigator plaintiffs who have a history of filing TCPA lawsuits.

Two modes: list filtering and inbound DID scrubbing

Most compliance workflows use the list filtering mode: you run your Lead list through DNC.COM before loading or dialing it, and numbers that match any of the active filters are removed or flagged. This prevents your dialers from ever placing a non-compliant call.

The inbound DID scrubbing mode is less commonly discussed but equally important for blended operations. It scrubs calls coming in through your VICIdial DIDs (DID (direct inward dialing)) against the same DNC.COM databases. This means if a DNC-listed number calls your inbound line, the system can identify it in real time.

Free trial and setup

DNC.COM offers a 15-day free trial of their Real-time Integrated TCPA and DNC Safe Harbor lead scrubbing to VICIdial users. Setup requires a DNC.COM account and connecting it to VICIdial's web admin utility.
