DID

Direct Inward Dial number — your inbound phone number.

A DID (Direct Inward Dial) is a phone number that routes to your VICIdial system. Use cases:

  • Inbound DID — customers call this number, lands in an in-group, agents answer
  • Outbound caller ID — VICIdial sets caller ID on outbound calls to a DID you own (not a spoofed number)

DIDs are typically rented from your SIP carrier ($0.50–$2/month each in most US markets). Configure in Admin → Inbound DIDs.

For STIR/SHAKEN A-attestation on outbound, your caller ID must be a DID your carrier has provisioned for you.
