How to Set Up a VICIdial Whiteboard Wallboard Display
Turn a TV or projector into a live VICIdial wallboard: pick a report type, watch the right options turn red, set the refresh interval, and project it.
A wallboard is just a report on a screen everyone can see. VICIdial's Real-Time Whiteboard report is designed for exactly that: it shows one large graph with its statistics and refreshes on a timer, so an overhead projector or a wall-mounted TV can run it untouched all shift. Here is how to set one up.
Step 1: choose the report type
Start with the Report Type dropdown. This is the single decision that drives the whole display, because the type you pick determines which filters the report even needs. Disposition Totals shows a breakdown of Disposition outcomes; the Agent and Team views show calls and sales per person or per User group; the Floor Performance tickers draw a running sales line; Ingroup Performance covers your inbound queues. Pick the story you want the floor staring at.
Step 2: fill in the options that turn red
As soon as you select a report, VICIdial highlights the relevant options in red — campaigns, status flags, and whatever else that report uses. Treat the red as your checklist: those are the fields you must set, and the rest can be left alone. A few of them interact, so it pays to know the rules.
- Selecting specific campaigns and then choosing -ALL- for ingroups restricts that -ALL- to only the ingroups belonging to the Campaign you picked.
- Choosing specific campaigns also limits which statuses get counted when you have status flags selected.
- The options you can even see depend on your user permissions, so an admin and an agent-lead may have different lists.

You have two ways to scope the data. A start date/time pins a fixed beginning and runs through the current moment as the report compiles. Or leave that blank and use "Show results for the past X hours," which makes the start a rolling window that always trails the present by X hours. For a daily wallboard the rolling window is usually what you want, because it follows the shift on its own without anyone editing the date each morning.
Step 4: set the refresh and project it
The Whiteboard redraws at the interval you set, so choose a refresh that keeps the picture current without thrashing the server — a slower refresh is fine for a graph that only shifts gradually over a shift. Then open the report on the machine driving your screen, put the browser in full screen, and point the projector or TV at it. From that point on the display takes care of itself: it recompiles on every interval and the floor sees fresh numbers all day.
This is one of the live views in our VICIdial reports guide. If you are not sure which report type to mount first, the overview of what the Whiteboard shows walks through every option. For a number that just climbs through the day, the Floor Performance tickers are hard to beat as a wallboard centerpiece.
Keep it honest
A wallboard is only as good as the box behind it. If the server is slow or shared, a constantly refreshing graph drags on everyone. VICIfast hands you a dedicated, secured VICIdial server in under 40 seconds, so your wallboard reads from hardware that is yours alone.
