How to add a custom report to the Reports page
VICIdial lets you bolt your own reports onto the REPORTS page. Here is where the Custom Report Admin page lives and how to add one.
The built-in reports cover most of what a call center needs, but sooner or later you want a number no stock report shows: a metric your client demands in a specific shape, or a slice of data unique to how you run a Campaign. VICIdial lets you add your own reports right onto the same REPORTS page, sitting beside the ones that ship with it. Here is where that lives.
Where custom reports are managed
Custom reports are added through the Custom Report Admin page. You reach it from the Admin Utilities page, which is linked at the bottom of the main REPORTS screen. So the trail is REPORTS, then Admin Utilities at the foot of the page, then Custom Report Admin. Anything you build there shows up in the same REPORTS list your team already uses, so there is no second place to go hunting for it.

- Open the REPORTS section from the top-left of the admin menu.
- Scroll to the bottom and click the Admin Utilities link.
- On the Admin Utilities page, open Custom Report Admin.
- Define the new report there, give it a clear name, and save it.
- Go back to the REPORTS page and confirm your report now appears in the list.
When a custom report is the right call
Reach for a custom report only after you have checked that no stock report already answers the question. The built-in set is broad, and it is easy to reinvent a report that already exists. A custom report earns its place when you need:
- A KPI in an exact format a client insists on that no standard report produces.
- A cut of Disposition data combined in a way the menu does not offer out of the box.
- A recurring pull your team runs often enough that a one-click report beats rebuilding it by hand.
If your need is the live floor view rather than a saved report, a custom report is the wrong tool. The Real-time report handles in-the-moment monitoring, and it has its own display options instead of a saved definition.
There is also a separate custom report builder inside the enhanced reporting module if you have it enabled. If that is where your data lives, see how to run a VERM custom report instead, since the path and options there differ from the standard Custom Report Admin page.
To see how custom reports sit alongside the System-Wide and real-time reports, and which built-in might already do the job, read our guide to the VICIdial reports section before you build anything new.
The short version
Custom reports live behind the Admin Utilities link at the bottom of the REPORTS page, on the Custom Report Admin screen. Add one there, name it clearly, scope it tightly, and it joins the rest of your reports. Use it only when a stock report truly cannot answer the question.
