What are VICIdial screen colors?
Screen colors let you brand VICIdial with your own color scheme and logo across the admin, agent, and chat screens.
Screen colors are VICIdial's built-in theming system. They let you swap out the default blue palette and stock logo for your own color scheme, so the admin, agent, and chat screens look like they belong to your brand instead of a generic dialer. If you run multiple campaigns for different clients, or you just want your Agent screens to feel like home, this is the feature that does it.
A screen color set is just a saved template of hex values and a logo selection. Once saved, it shows up as a pick-list option you can apply to a campaign or in-group, which keeps theming separate from your call logic. Nothing about a color set touches dialing, lead handling, or reporting, so it is one of the safest settings in the whole platform to experiment with.
Theming is assigned on the System Settings modification page, where every template you have built appears in pulldown menus named Admin Screen Colors, Agent Screen Colors, and Chat Screen Colors. That means you can prepare several palettes ahead of time and apply them screen by screen, rather than editing colors live and hoping you got the hex codes right on the first try.
What a screen color template actually contains
Each template starts with a Colors ID (2 to 20 characters, no spaces or special characters) and a descriptive Colors Name. There is an Active flag, and an Admin User Group that controls which admins can see the record, defaulting to --ALL--. From there you set hex colors: the Menu Background for the sidebar (default 015B91, kept dark because white text sits on top of it), the Frame Background for the main area (default D9E6FE, kept light because black text sits on it), plus Standard Row Backgrounds and Alternate Row Backgrounds for shading rows and sections. Finally, the Web Logo field selects your custom logo image.
The row background fields come with several defaults each, and they exist so different sections of a screen visually separate from one another. The Standard Row Backgrounds default to 9BB9FB, B9CBFD, 8EBCFD, B6D3FC, and A3C3D6, while the Alternate Row Backgrounds default to BDFFBD, 99FF99, and CCFFCC. Both groups are meant to stay light, because black text renders over them. One of those values, the fifth standard row, has a special job on the agent screen that we will come back to.
Theming is a small piece of the bigger picture covered in our agent screen configuration guide, which walks through how scripts, labels, and colors come together for each Campaign.

When to use it
Reach for screen colors when you white-label for clients, when you want agents to instantly recognize which environment they are logged into, or when a high-contrast palette helps reduce eye strain over a long shift. If you are also building out the workspace itself, pair this with our walkthrough on adding a VICIdial script so the whole layout feels intentional. Colors are purely cosmetic, so they never affect Disposition behavior or dialing.
If you would rather skip the setup and run a managed VICIdial that is ready to brand out of the box, take a look at VICIfast pricing to see how we can host it for you.
