List Statistics: reading a VICIdial list's health

Scroll to the bottom of the Modify List screen and you'll find List Statistics — a set of small tables that tell you, at a glance, how healthy a list is and how much calling is left in it. If you've ever wondered why a list "feels" tapped out, this is where the answer lives. Let's read each block in plain language.

Dispositions, dialable, and penetration

The first table breaks the list down by Disposition — the result code an agent or the system attaches to each call — and shows how many records carry each one, split between called and not-yet-called. Two summary numbers sit alongside it: Dialable and Penetration.

  • Dialable counts records whose status isn't flagged UNWORKABLE or COMPLETED — in other words, what's still callable.
  • Penetration is the percentage of records you've fully worked — those dialed up to the campaign's Call Count Target, or marked DNC, NOT INTERESTED, UNWORKABLE, or COMPLETED.
Low Dialable plus high Penetration is your cue that the list is nearly worked through — time to load fresh records or run a reset rather than push agents at an empty well.

Time zones, owners, and ranks

The next tables slice the same records other ways. One groups them by time zone and whether they've been called — handy for spotting that half your list sits in a zone you can't legally call yet. Another shows which users are set as the owner of records, and how many each owns. A fourth lists the Rank assigned to records; anything without a rank lands in Rank "0".

Status by call count

The last table is the detailed one: it crosses each record's status with how many times it has been dialed. This is gold when you're deciding whether to recycle. If you see a pile of records sitting at NA or B with only one or two attempts, there's still juice in the list — a recycle pass can put them back in front of agents. Each Lead that's hit your attempt ceiling, on the other hand, is done. Knowing the spread keeps you from over-calling a tired Campaign.

Reading these tables together is what turns a guess into a decision. The time-zone split tells you whether you're sitting on a wall of records you simply can't call yet because of the hour; the rank breakdown tells you whether your best-scored records have already been worked or are still waiting; and the status-by-call-count grid tells you exactly how much life is left before a list is genuinely exhausted. Spend two minutes here before you reload data and you'll often find you don't need to — there's still plenty in the list, it just needs a reset to come back into play.

These stats are read-only — they reflect reality, they don't change it. To act on what they tell you, you head back up the page to reset or recycle. The lists and leads guide ties the numbers to the actions, and what a VICIdial list is explains the container they describe.

Read the stats, make the call, keep your list honest. If you'd like a dialer where these reports load instantly out of the box, our managed VICIdial spins up in under a minute — see pricing.

Frequently asked

What does Dialable mean?
It's the count of records whose status isn't UNWORKABLE or COMPLETED — the records still eligible to be called.
What is Penetration?
The percentage of records you've fully worked: dialed up to the campaign's Call Count Target, or flagged DNC, NOT INTERESTED, UNWORKABLE, or COMPLETED.
Why are some records listed as Rank 0?
Rank 0 simply means no rank has been assigned to those records. It's the default bucket, not an error.
