Enable Transfer Presets: building an unlimited transfer number list
How the Enable Transfer Presets option adds a Presets menu to the campaign and gives agents an almost unlimited list of transfer numbers.
The D1 through D5 presets cover five destinations, which is plenty for a simple campaign. The moment you have a dozen partner desks or regional verification lines, five slots feel cramped. That is where Enable Transfer Presets comes in: it gives you an almost unlimited list of transfer phone numbers.
What the option turns on
Enable Transfer Presets is a campaign setting, disabled by default. When you switch it on, a Presets sub-menu appears at the top of the Campaign Modification page. That sub-menu is where you build your list of named numbers, with no real cap on how many you add.
On the agent side, a Presets link shows up at the bottom right corner of the screen, in the same spot the D1-D5 links normally sit. When an Agent clicks it, a window pops open listing every preset phone number you defined. Selecting one drops that number straight into the Number to Call field of the Transfer-Conference window.
The setting values
Beyond plain on and off, this option has two values worth knowing:
- CONTACTS pulls from a contact list, but it only works if contact_information is enabled on your system, which is a custom feature rather than a stock one.
- STAGING lets you build and arrange presets without exposing them in the agent screen yet, so you can prep a list before it goes live.
STAGING is the quiet workhorse here. You can stand up a full menu, review it, and flip it to live only when the destinations are confirmed, instead of editing presets your agents can already see. That matters when a partner gives you a new verification line on short notice: you add it in staging, double-check it dials, then expose it without ever showing agents a half-finished list.

Reach for the preset list when your transfer targets outgrow five, when you want clear human-readable names next to each number, or when you need to stage changes before agents see them. The D-presets still win for quick, fixed handoffs paired with a DTMF string. Many campaigns run both: a few D-presets for the daily destinations and a Presets list for the long tail.
Keep the list tidy as it grows. A window with thirty unlabeled numbers is no faster than typing, so name each entry for the destination it reaches and prune the ones you no longer use. Because the Presets sub-menu lives on the Campaign Modification page, you edit the whole list in one place and every agent on the campaign sees the same set, which keeps your routing consistent across the floor.
If your shorter, five-slot setup is all you need, the Transfer-Conf Numbers and DTMF presets walk through those fields in detail. Both feed the same Transfer-Conference frame and the same downstream Disposition flow.
Whatever a preset points at, the agent still drives the rest of the handoff manually. They can run a Warm transfer by staying on the line, or a Cold transfer by dropping out, and they can pull in a live Closer sitting in a Campaign Ingroup. The preset just saves the typing.
For how presets fit into the broader handoff strategy, the transfers and closers guide ties it all together. And if you would rather skip the setup entirely, our pricing page shows the hosted plans where we configure your preset lists with you.
