How to email a phone's voicemail to the agent
Fill the Email field on a VICIdial phone entry and voicemail messages are sent to that address, with an option to delete the local copy after.
Agents don't always log in to check messages. VICIdial can email a voicemail straight to an inbox the moment it is recorded, so a missed call turns into an email the agent actually sees.
This is controlled by two fields on the phone entry, right next to the rest of the voicemail settings. You need a working voicemail box first, so the call has somewhere to record before it can be mailed out.
The Email field
The Email field on the phone entry holds an address associated with this phone. It identifies the Extension just like the login and voicemail box do. Once you populate it, that address is where voicemails are sent. There is no separate enable switch for emailing, putting a valid address in this field is the switch. The message is delivered to the Agent who owns the phone.
Keep or delete the local copy
Delete Voicemail After Email decides what happens to the message on the box once it has been mailed. Entering an address here activates the process to drop voicemails to email and remove the local copy, so the mailbox does not fill up over time. Leave it alone if you want the message to stay in the box as well.

This field is one of many on a phone record, and the rest are easy to overlook. The VICIdial phones and aliases guide walks through them, and setting up call-in agents covers a related routing case.
