How to Activate or Deactivate a QC Scorecard

Turning a QC scorecard on or off in VICIdial is one of the simplest controls in the admin. There is no form to fill in and no submit button to hunt for. You tick or untick a single checkbox and the change takes effect right away. The trick is knowing what changes when you do, and just as importantly, what does not change.

The toggle

  1. Open the QC Scorecards page under the Quality Control menu.
  2. Find the scorecard you want in the list of created scorecards.
  3. Tick its Active checkbox to switch it on, or untick it to switch it off. The change saves on its own; there is no form submission and no separate confirm step.

Active --> Selectable: has at least one checkpoint
Inactive --> Hidden: not offered for selection

What activating does

An active scorecard with at least one checkpoint becomes selectable when you apply quality control settings to a Campaign, list, or Ingroup. Until it is active, it stays out of those selection lists entirely, so a scorecard you forgot to activate simply will not be there when you go looking for it. Activation is the switch that moves a scorecard from a draft on your bench to a tool the rest of the system can pick up.

What deactivating does, and does not, do

Deactivating a scorecard takes it out of future selection so it cannot be assigned to anything new. It does not undo work already done. Calls that were already claimed and scored against it keep their results, and the numbers you have already collected stay intact. Think of the Active checkbox as a gate for new assignments, not an eraser for past reviews.

Deactivate a scorecard you are retiring rather than deleting it. You keep the historical reviews that referenced it and avoid breaking anything mid-cycle, while still keeping it out of new assignments going forward.

There is a common case where this matters: you have built a fresh scorecard for next quarter but it is not ready to grade calls yet. Leave it inactive while you finish its checkpoints, and reviewers will not stumble onto a half-built form. Flip the Active checkbox only when the scorecard is complete and you are ready for it to start appearing in selection lists. The same trick works in reverse at the end of a cycle, when you want to stop new assignments without touching anything else.

A note on checkpoints

Activation pairs with the checkpoint rule. A scorecard needs both an active flag and at least one checkpoint to be usable, so an Agent doing reviews never sees an empty or switched-off grading form by accident. The Status (lead status) of the scorecard is just the gate; the checkpoints are the substance. Individual checkpoints have their own active flag too, which lets you hide a single question without taking the whole scorecard offline.

If you have not built the scorecard yet, start with how to add a QC scorecard. For how activation fits the broader quality control setup, see VICIdial quality control explained.

Small toggles like this keep your review process clean as campaigns come and go. VICIfast runs a managed VICIdial box with quality control ready to configure, live in under 40 seconds. See our plans and pricing.
