How to Add a QC Scorecard

Adding a QC scorecard in VICIdial is a short, three-field job. The form itself takes seconds. The part that matters is what you do right after: a brand-new scorecard is empty and may be inactive, and it stays invisible to the rest of the system until you give it a checkpoint and switch it on. So treat the form as step one of two, not the whole task.

Where to start

Open the QC Scorecards page, which lives under the Quality Control menu in the admin. This is the same page where you will later activate, modify, or delete scorecards, so it is worth getting familiar with it. Every scorecard you have ever made shows up here in one list, newest at the top.

Add the scorecard

  1. Click ADD NEW SCORECARD. A small form with three fields appears.
  2. Enter a scorecard ID. This is the short handle you will recognise it by in selection lists later, so keep it tidy.
  3. Enter a name. Make it describe the calls it grades, like Outbound Sales Review, so a teammate knows what it is for at a glance.
  4. Choose whether it is active. You can leave it inactive for now and switch it on once it has checkpoints.
  5. Click SUBMIT NEW SCORECARD. The new scorecard appears at the top of the list, ready to work on.

It is not finished yet

A scorecard with no checkpoints cannot be selected when you apply quality control settings, even if it is active. So after it appears, click MODIFY next to it. That opens the scorecard's checkpoints and an ADD NEW CHECKPOINT form. Add at least one checkpoint there, give it clear text and a point value, then your scorecard is real and usable.

Checkpoint changes save as you make them, so there is no separate submit step once you are in the modify view. That makes it easy to build a scorecard up one checkpoint at a time and watch the list grow without losing work between edits. If you spot a typo in a checkpoint later, you just edit it in place and the change sticks.

Plan the scorecard before you build it

It pays to know what you want to grade before you open the form. Jot down the handful of things every call of this type should get right, turn each one into a checkpoint with plain wording, and decide how many points each is worth. A scorecard you sketched on paper first tends to come out tighter than one you invent field by field, and reviewers will thank you for questions they can answer without guessing.

Two conditions gate a scorecard: it must have at least one checkpoint and it must be active. Miss either and it will not appear when you go to assign it to a campaign, list, or ingroup, and you will be left wondering where it went.

From here the scorecard can be attached to a Campaign, list, or Ingroup so reviews of those calls grade against it. A reviewer then claims a call, listens to the Call recording, and scores each checkpoint while the call's Disposition history stays attached behind the grade for context.
