The VICIdial User Status page

What the User Status page shows, how to reach it, and how a manager forces an agent into or out of the timeclock.

The VICIdial User Status page

The User Status page is the quickest way to answer one question: is this person clocked in right now, and if the answer is wrong, can I fix it on the spot? It is the first of two screens in VICIdial where a timeclock record can be changed, and it is the one managers reach for during a live shift when something looks off.

What the page shows

The timeclock is the punch system that records when an agent starts and ends their working day, separate from logging into the agent screen to take calls. The User Status page reports on that punch record for one person. It tells you when the user logged into the timeclock, whether they are currently logged in, and it gives you a control to force them in or out. That last part is what makes the page useful: it is not just a read-only display, it is a place to act.

Because the page is scoped to a single Agent, it is the natural starting point when a manager notices that one person looks stuck. A common case is an Agent session that ended without a clean timeclock punch, leaving the person showing as still clocked in long after they have gone home. The User Status page surfaces exactly that state so you can correct it before it skews the day's hours.

How to reach it

There are three doors into the User Status page, and you pick whichever one you are already near.

  • From the Real-Time screen, where you watch the floor live. When you spot a name that looks wrong, the link takes you straight to that user's status.
  • From the User Modification page, where you edit one user's account settings.
  • From the User Stats page, the deeper reporting view that lists every kind of activity for that person.

All three land on the same screen, so there is no wrong way in. The Real-Time route is the one most managers use during a shift, because the problem and the fix sit one click apart.

Forcing a timeclock punch

The headline feature of the page is the FORCE option. If an agent is shown as logged out but is sitting at their desk ready to work, you can force them logged in. If an agent is shown as logged in but has clearly left, you can force them logged out. Either action writes a real timeclock record, so the punch log stays honest and the day's reported hours line up with what actually happened.

This is a small action with a real payoff. Timeclock hours feed payroll and adherence reporting, so a stray missed punch on one person quietly throws off a whole User group summary if nobody fixes it. Forcing the correct state from the User Status page is the on-the-spot remedy, while the User Stats page is where you go later to adjust the exact login and logout times after the fact.

Keep one thing in mind: forcing a punch is a manager action and it is recorded as one. A system-forced logout leaves a marker on the record, so an auditor can always tell a forced punch from a normal one. That is by design and it is a good thing — it means the convenience of the FORCE button never costs you a clean trail.

Where it fits

Think of the User Status page as the triage screen and the User Stats page as the operating table. Status answers "is this person in or out right now" and lets you flip that immediately; Stats lets you go back and edit the precise times on a finished record. The broader picture of how the timeclock works across both screens is laid out in our guide to the VICIdial timeclock, and the deeper editing flow lives in how to view activity by campaign, user, and list. A clean timeclock keeps your hours, your Disposition reporting, and your payroll all telling the same story, which is why the FORCE controls matter even though most managers touch them rarely.
