How to add a number to the DNC list
Two ways to put a phone number on a VICIdial Do-Not-Call list: the Add-Delete DNC Number link and automatic adds from dispositions.
Putting a number on a Do-Not-Call list is one of the most routine compliance jobs in VICIdial, so it pays to know the quick way. A DNC (do not call) entry tells the dialer to skip a number, and there are two ways to create one: add it by hand from the Lists section, or let an agent's Disposition add it automatically. Let's cover both.
Adding a number by hand
In the LISTS section there's a link called "Add-Delete DNC Number". Open it, type in the phone number you want to suppress, and click submit. That's the whole flow. If the number is already on the list, you'll get a duplicate message instead of a second entry, so you can't accidentally add the same number twice.
You also choose the scope. You can add the number to all campaigns, to all active campaigns, or to all DNC campaigns, depending on how widely you want it blocked. That lets you suppress a number everywhere at once or only across the campaigns that matter.

C --> D[Enter number, submit]
D --> E{Already listed?}
E -->|Yes| F[Duplicate message]
E -->|No| G[Added to DNC]
B -->|Automatic| H[Agent dispositions with DNC flag Y]
H --> GLetting dispositions add numbers for you
Manual entry is great for one-offs, but the real workhorse is automatic adds. When an Agent ends a call with a status whose DNC flag is set to Y, the number is added to the internal and/or campaign-specific list straight away, in real time. So if a contact asks not to be called again, the agent just picks the right disposition and the suppression happens on its own. No trip to the Lists section needed.
Once a number is on the list, the dialer filters it out as leads move into the Hopper, as long as DNC checking is active for that campaign. There's also a "DNC LOG SEARCH" feature that shows when and who entered a number, which is handy for audits.
For how DNC fits into the broader list and lead workflow, see the VICIdial lists and leads guide, and if you'd rather scrub numbers as you import them, DNC scrub on load walks through that path.
