Bring your own carrier with VICIfast
VICIfast hosts the dialer but never sells minutes. You connect your own SIP trunk, so your carrier relationship stays yours.
VICIfast hosts the dialer and never sells you minutes. You bring your own carrier, point its SIP trunk at your server, and keep the rates and contract you already have. The hosting and the calling stay separate on purpose, and that separation is a feature, not a gap.
Why hosting and calling are split
Plenty of dialer providers bundle the minutes, which sounds simpler until you want to change carriers, negotiate a better rate, or move a number. With VICIfast the Carrier relationship is entirely yours. We run the box; you decide who carries the traffic and on what terms.
This also keeps the billing clean and easy to read. You pay VICIfast for hosting, and you pay your carrier for VoIP termination separately. There is never a per-minute markup hiding inside your hosting bill, and you can always see exactly what your call traffic costs.
If you already have a carrier you trust, none of that changes. You bring them with you.
How a trunk connects
A SIP trunk is the link between your VICIdial server and your carrier. You configure it with the credentials or IP authentication your carrier hands you, and the dialer routes outbound calls through it. Inbound calls on a DID (direct inward dialing) come back along the same trunk, so a single connection covers both directions.

A->>V: Click to dial
V->>C: Outbound via your SIP trunk
C->>L: Place the call
L-->>C: Answer
C-->>V: Audio returns
V-->>A: Agent connectedBecause your carrier sits at the edge of this path, the caller ID, routing rules, and any compliance settings you have agreed with them stay in force. VICIfast does not rewrite any of that or insert itself between you and your carrier.
What stays under your control
- Your per-minute rates and contract terms, negotiated directly with the carrier.
- The numbers you dial out from and the DIDs you receive calls on.
- Switching carriers later, since the trunk is just a configuration on your own box.
What you bring versus what we run
The division is simple. You bring the carrier, the numbers, and the trunk credentials. We provision the dedicated server, install hardened VICIdial, and keep the box reachable over HTTPS on your branded subdomain. Your part is a one-time trunk setup; ours is the hosting that sits behind it.
That split keeps both sides honest. We are not in the business of routing your calls, so we have no reason to mark up traffic or steer it. You are not in the business of running a server, so you do not have to patch an operating system or chase a broken dialer at 2am. Each side does the part it is set up to do well.
Testing a trunk before you commit
Because the trunk is just configuration on your box, trying out a carrier is low-risk. Add the trunk, place a handful of test calls, and check the audio in both directions. If the carrier is not a fit, you change the config rather than migrating off a bundled plan. For a small operator weighing two carriers, that freedom to test and switch is worth more than a bundled per-minute rate that locks you in.
Where VICIfast fits
Bring-your-own-carrier is a core part of the model described in what VICIfast adds to VICIdial. The same ownership idea applies to your audio, covered in why your recordings stay on your own server. A server is live in under 40 seconds, so wiring up a trunk and placing a test call is a same-day job. See what each plan covers on the pricing page.
