List mix

A campaign feature that blends several lead lists together and lets you set what percentage of dials each list gets, so the dialer pulls from them in the ratio you choose.

List mix is a campaign feature that combines several lead lists into one dialing pool and lets you decide how much of the dialing each list gets. Instead of working one list until it's empty, the dialer pulls leads from all the active lists in the percentages you set.

You build a mix by giving it a name and choosing which lead list entries belong to it, then assigning each a weight. For example, you might tell a campaign to take 70 percent of its dials from a fresh list and 30 percent from an older one. VICIdial honors those weights as it fills the hopper, so both lists get worked rather than one being ignored.

List mix versus list order

It helps to know how this differs from list order. List order decides the sequence and sorting of leads, while list mix decides the proportion drawn from each list. You can use a mix to keep aged leads in rotation through lead recycling without letting them crowd out new ones.

  • Weights are percentages — they should add up to a sensible total across the lists.
  • A list with no callable leads left contributes nothing, even at a high weight.

If you need to force the dialer onto a single list for a moment, a list id override does that without disturbing the mix. For most teams, a well-tuned list mix is the calmest way to keep fresh and aged leads flowing into the same campaign at the rate you want.
