vs JustCall — SMS-first sales tool vs predictive dialer

JustCall is a sales-team phone + SMS platform. VICIdial is a predictive dialer. Honest comparison, with pricing math and the cases where teams run both.

JustCall is a sales-team-focused communication platform — calling, SMS, deep CRM integrations, light auto-dialer. It's a real product for the SDR shop that wants phone + texting + CRM-pop in one tool. It's not a predictive dialer, and once your outbound volume crosses ~20 agents the per-user math gets uncomfortable.

Quick summary

When JustCall wins

  • Small SDR team (5–15 reps) — the per-user pricing is reasonable at this size, and JustCall's CRM integrations are genuinely good.
  • SMS-heavy cadence — JustCall ships SMS natively as part of the call workflow. VICIdial doesn't (you'd wire Twilio Programmable Messaging separately).
  • Deep native CRM screen-pop — Salesforce / HubSpot / Pipedrive + 30 other CRMs. If your reps live in Salesforce all day, JustCall removes a lot of friction.
  • Click-to-dial workflow, not predictive — agents pick the next lead, click to call. That's the right shape for B2B sales; predictive would burn IP reputation on B2B lists.

When VICIfast wins

  • 20+ agents on outbound — the per-user pricing math becomes the question.
  • Predictive dial required — high-volume B2C outbound, lead-gen, collections. JustCall's auto-dialer is preview-mode; not the same animal.
  • TCPA + FCC compliance posture — drop SLA enforcement, per-trunk litigator scrubbing, recording-by-state, federal DNC enforcement. JustCall is configured for sales teams, not regulated outbound.
  • BYO SIP carrier — keep your direct relationship with Twilio / Telnyx / Bandwidth. JustCall bundles their own numbers.
  • You want the underlying box — root SSH, your crontab, your /etc/asterisk. The dialer is yours.

The pricing math

For a 20-agent team:

| | JustCall (Pro+, ~$60/user) | VICIfast (Growth + your SIP) | | ------------ | -------------------------- | ---------------------------- | | Monthly | ~$1,200 | ~$129 + your carrier minutes | | At 40 agents | ~$2,400 | ~$199 + your carrier minutes | | At 80 agents | ~$4,800 | ~$399 + your carrier minutes |

JustCall scales with headcount. VICIfast scales with hardware.

When teams switch from JustCall

Three patterns:

  1. Outgrowing the per-user ceiling — team went from 15 to 50 SDRs, the bill went from $900/mo to $3,000/mo, the renewal triggered the question.
  2. Moving from B2B to B2C outbound — B2B's MANUAL-dial-only shape was fine on JustCall. The lead-gen / collections / political shape needs predictive, which JustCall doesn't ship.
  3. Compliance gap — JustCall doesn't have a pre-dial litigator hook. For TCPA-heavy outbound, that's a real gap that's hard to bolt on.

Run both, different teams

Common pattern: B2B SDRs on JustCall (low-volume, CRM-tight, SMS-heavy), B2C outbound on VICIfast (high-volume, predictive, compliance-heavy). Different shapes need different tools, and the cost stays bounded because the JustCall seat count stays small.

When to stay on JustCall

  • Small SDR team (≤ 15 reps) with CRM-deep workflows + SMS in the cadence.
  • B2B outbound where every call is hand-picked.
  • You're not running predictive and don't have TCPA exposure.

Migration

JustCall-to-VICIdial migrations follow the same shape as Aircall / CloudTalk: export your CRM contact list, load as a VICIdial campaign, port DIDs from JustCall if needed (1–2 weeks for port), point your SIP carrier at the new box. Typically 1–2 days of platform-side work; the rest is your team building the predictive-campaign workflow.
