VICIfast vs eTollFree: which should you pick?

Same VICIdial on both sides. Pick eTollFree if you want numbers, carrier and dialer on one invoice from a US company that publishes its entity and address - their plans are $99 for up to 10 agents and $249 for up to 30. Pick VICIfast for your own carrier, a single-tenant box with root SSH, and a self-serve 40-second provision.

It is the same VICIdial underneath: same /vicidial/admin.php, same agent screen, same predictive, progressive, preview and manual modes, same dispositions. They host it; so do we. The differences are how fast you go live, who supplies the carrier, and whether you buy through a demo call or a checkout.

An earlier version of this page described eTollFree's VICIdial offer as a $99 base plus $24.99 per phone line and $5 per agent for call recording. Their current published VICIdial plans say something different - recording is included and there are "no per-agent fees" - so we have rewritten it against what their pages say now. Prices below are from their VICIdial pricing and hosting pages as published, read on 7 September 2026.

These are the things a reader can actually check:

• They publish who they are, and it is corroborated off-site. An entity - Etollfree, LLC - with a published street address at 777 Main St, Fort Worth, Texas, and a matching Better Business Bureau profile and FCC Form 499 filer record. Very few vendors in this corner of the market have third-party records you can look up at all. That is a real difference and it belongs on their side of the ledger.
• A long-registered domain. etollfree.net was registered on 1 December 2005 - a little under 21 years before this check.
• Call recording is included on the entry tier. Their Starter plan lists "Call recording included", and their plans page says "No per-agent fees. No setup cost. No long-term contracts." Several competitors in this comparison set charge for recording on the cheapest plan; they do not.
• STIR/SHAKEN attestation is part of the package. Their plans list "STIR/SHAKEN compliant" on every tier. Their wider business is toll-free and virtual numbers, so numbers, voice and the dialer can genuinely come from one vendor and one invoice.
• Published prices, with an annual discount. $99 and $249, or $83 and $211 billed annually - a 15% saving they state on the page.
• 24/7 support is claimed on every tier, along with a "99.9% uptime SLA" (see the note below about how their terms qualify that).
• A community footprint. A search of the vicidial.org forum for "etollfree" returned five matches - one community site, not a verdict, but a track record you can read.

Where VICIfast wins

• Speed. Under 40 seconds from paid order to a working VICIdial admin - a measured median. Their pages say "Live in under 1 hour" and "your hosted VICIdial instance is fully configured and ready to use within 1 hour of signing up." Both get you there the same day; one lets you demo on a live sales call.
• A checkout instead of a demo. Every CTA on their VICIdial pricing page is "Book a Demo", "Call for Pricing" or "Get a Custom Quote". On VICIfast you pay by card, PayPal or USDT and the box provisions without you speaking to anyone.
• Your own carrier, at wholesale. Bring Twilio, Telnyx, Bandwidth, Voxbeam or whoever, billed by them directly, and switch when rates change without changing dialer hosts. We sell no minutes and no numbers on any plan. That is the structural trade: they are a voice company that also hosts a dialer, and we are a dialer company that never touches your voice bill.
• A single-tenant box on every plan. Every VICIfast server is a dedicated VPS in the region you chose, with root SSH and every session captured as a replayable asciinema cast. Their "dedicated server option" appears from the $249 Professional tier.
• Recordings stay on your machine. Yours, in your region, on hardware you can log into.
• Per-trunk TCPA scrubbing. Bring your own Blacklist Alliance key and set the scrub mode per outbound carrier - different portfolios, different compliance contracts. See /features/tcpa-compliance.
• A self-serve trial. 7 days on the Launch plan, card or PayPal on file, nothing charged until day 7, one click to cancel - plus an automatic refund if provisioning fails within the hour. We found no trial advertised on their VICIdial pages.
• Price at the sizes most floors run. See below.

A note on pricing

Both sides publish, and both price by plan rather than per agent - so this is a clean comparison. Their figures are as printed on their VICIdial pricing page; ours are US-region and live on /pricing.

Two caveats, both ways. Theirs includes the voice side and ours does not - add your carrier's minutes to our column for a true total, and if you have no carrier relationship today, factor in the time to set one up. Against that, our minutes come from a carrier you chose at rates you negotiated, and you can move them without moving your dialer.

Their pricing page also runs its own comparison against Five9 at "$149/agent/mo" and NICE CXone at "$100/agent/mo". We have not checked those figures and neither should you take ours for them - but the underlying point they are making, that flat-rate beats per-agent as you grow, is one we agree with.

What to check before you buy

All observed on 7 September 2026:

• The domain etollfree.net was registered on 1 December 2005 through GoDaddy.
• Their site gives more than one founding year, and so do third parties. Their VICIdial pages say "20+ Years in Business"; another page on their site gives 1997; the BBB profile gives 2002; a SourceForge listing gives 2010; the domain dates from December 2005. If trading history matters to your decision, ask them which date refers to what rather than relying on any one figure.
• The "99.9% uptime SLA" on the plan cards is qualified in their terms. Their terms state that they do not guarantee any specific uptime unless it is set out in a separate written service-level agreement. If uptime is load-bearing for you, ask for that separate agreement and its credit schedule in writing before you sign.
• More than one VICIdial pricing page is live at once, and the figures differ. Call recording appears as included on the plans page, and at other prices - including $5 per agent slot, $50 a month, and "not included" - elsewhere on the site. Get the number for the plan you are buying in writing.
• There is no self-serve purchase path on the VICIdial pages. Every button is "Book a Demo", "Call Now" or "Get a Custom Quote". The published prices are the start of a conversation.
• Their pages advertise a "4.9/5 Google Rating", "10,000+ Customers Served", and that "93% of self-hosted VICIdial users report spending more time on server issues than on actually running campaigns." We found no way to check any of those, and no source is cited for the 93% figure.
• Their published contact number is 1 (800) 233-0234.
• Several review and company-data sites refused automated requests from our side, so we cannot tell you what they hold either way - check them yourself in a browser. What we could reach: a BBB profile and an FCC Form 499 filer record both exist for the entity.

Worth asking in writing: whether the tier you are buying is on shared or dedicated infrastructure; what the per-minute and per-number rates are, since the plan price and the voice price are separate things; whether you can point your own SIP carrier at the instance; and what happens to your recordings and your numbers if you leave.

When to pick eTollFree

Grounded in what you can verify for yourself:

• You want numbers, voice and the dialer from one US vendor on one invoice, with STIR/SHAKEN attestation handled, and you would rather not run a carrier relationship at all.
• You want a counterparty with a published legal entity, a street address, a BBB profile and an FCC filer record - a paper trail you can look up before you send money.
• Call recording included at the entry price matters to you, and $99 for up to 10 agents fits.
• You prefer to buy after a demo call with a person, rather than through a checkout.
• You want annual billing at a stated discount rather than month-to-month.

When to pick VICIfast

• You want to bring your own carrier at wholesale and swap providers when rates change, without it touching your dialer-host invoice.
• You want a single-tenant box on every plan, with root SSH, recordings on your own server, and data in the region you chose.
• You want to buy without a demo call and be dialing in under 40 seconds.
• You want per-trunk TCPA scrubbing and recorded SSH sessions.
• You want to try it first - 7 days, nothing charged until day 7 - with an auto-refund if provisioning fails.
• You want to white-label the whole platform without needing an Enterprise quote to get there.

Migration

It is stock VICIdial on both sides, so the move is mechanical rather than a rebuild: campaigns, lead lists, dispositions, agent logins and recordings come across to a dedicated box, and the cutover is one DNS flip plus one carrier-IP update. Nobody on your floor gets retrained.

The one real change is the carrier. If they supply your voice and your numbers, part of the move is standing up your own SIP trunk and porting your DIDs - plan that first, not last.
