Restore a terminated server
Within 90 days of termination, order a new server and we restore the old one’s database and call recordings onto it, for a one-time $99.

When a server is terminated we keep a backup of its VICIdial database, call recordings and uploaded audio for 90 days. Within those 90 days you can have it back: order a new server and we restore the backup onto it for you, for a one-time $99.
Start a restore
- Open the terminated server in your dashboard (Servers, then Past) and click Restore this server. It shows the last day the backup can be restored. Or open Order and choose Restore from a backup.
- The order page opens with the old server’s plan, region and name filled in. Change the plan if you like. The name is kept when it is still free; if someone has taken it since, pick another.
- Pay for the server and the $99 restore. A restore is always a paid order: it cannot start on a free trial.
- When the new server is ready, the restore starts by itself. The new server’s page shows how it is going, and we email you when it is done.
What comes back
- Everything in VICIdial as it was on the day the server was terminated: campaigns, lists and leads, users and phones, in-groups, DIDs and call menus, statuses, scripts and the do-not-call list.
- Call history and every report built on it.
- Call recordings, with their links in VICIdial pointed at the new server.
- Audio files you uploaded to VICIdial: IVR prompts and hold music. (A server terminated before 27 October 2026 was backed up without them; upload those again.)
- Carriers you set up in VICIdial yourself, moved to the new server’s IP address.
- Your settings on our side: firewall rules, your branding pack, team members’ access, API endpoints, web forms and scheduled reports.
What does not come back
- Anything you added to the old server outside VICIdial, over SSH.
- VICIdial’s admin login. It is the new server’s, shown on the server page; your agents keep their own logins.
Before your agents start
- If a carrier lets calls in by IP address, give it the new server’s IP. The restored carriers know it; the carrier does not.
- Point your phone numbers at the new server if the restore email lists any.
- Tell agents where to sign in. With the same name their bookmarks still work. The VICIdial admin page has a new address either way: it is on the server page.
- Make one test call in and out.
If the restore stops part way
Your backup is not touched by a restore, so nothing is lost. Our team is told straight away and finishes it by hand, and you get an email with the deadline: two business days. If it is not done by then, the $99 is refunded automatically. The new server works in the meantime; if you would rather not keep it, cancel its plan from the server page.
Good to know
- Only single cloud servers can be restored this way. For a cluster, a Bare Metal server or your own server, contact support.
- About two weeks before a backup is deleted we send one reminder, while there is still time.
- A server suspended for a missed payment is not terminated yet: pay the invoice to resume it as it is, with nothing to restore.
