VMX (voicemail message)
VICIdial's auto-leave-voicemail feature for AMD-detected machines.
VMX = VoiceMail Xtension. VICIdial's feature for auto-leaving a recorded message when AMD detects an answering machine.
When a call hits AMD and AMD Send to VMX = Y, VICIdial plays a pre-recorded message at the beep. Agent doesn't need to be involved.
Use cases
- Bulk callback campaigns (leave a "we tried to reach you" message)
- Survey campaigns (leave the survey URL)
- Appointment reminders
Compliance
Pre-recorded messages to cell phones STILL require prior express consent under TCPA, even if you're "just leaving a voicemail." The 2021 PDR ruling confirmed this. Pre-recorded VMX should only fire on consented numbers.
Configuration
- Recording: upload via Admin → Audio Store, reference by name
- Per-campaign: set the VMX message +
AMD Send to VMX= Y - Smart: route AMD-detected to a "leave message" sub-routine
