Connect

A call where the lead picked up — distinct from "answered" (which can include voicemail).

Connect = a call where a live human picked up the phone. Distinct from "answered" — answered can include voicemail (depending on Asterisk's classification).

In VICIdial reports:

  • Answered: any call that didn't reach NA, B, or DROP
  • Connect: live human

Connect rate

connects / dials. Typical:

  • Cold B2C: 6-15%
  • Cold B2B: 10-20%
  • Existing customer: 25-40%
  • Inbound: 95%+ (the customer dialed you)

Higher connect rates correlate with caller ID reputation (STIR/SHAKEN A) and time-of-day targeting.
