Factory-reset a server

Factory reset rebuilds the OS from scratch on the same VPS. Same VPS, same IPv4, same FQDN — all data destroyed, all configuration reset.

Customer flow

1. From /dashboard/servers/[id] → Factory reset.

2. Type the FQDN to confirm.

3. We email a 24-hour confirmation link.

4. Click the link to start. State goes ACTIVE → INSTALLING.

5. The VPS is rebuilt from a clean base image, then VICIdial is re-installed.

6. Server returns to ACTIVE under a minute later with a fresh admin password emailed to the owner.

Pre-reset backup

A BackupArtifact with kind PRE_RESET is created and uploaded to S3 before the rebuild fires. Retained 7 days — long enough for "I just nuked my dialer by accident" recovery.

Cost implications

Factory reset doesn't change billing. The customer keeps paying their plan; reset is included.
